Homemade Rose Water

Rosewater is used as a base for many skin care creams, lotions and gels. It is used to soothe and hydrate the skin, and is good for dry, mature and sensitive skin. Here is a recipe for the homemade variety.

You will need:

750ml fresh rose petals
500ml still spring water

Method:

Place petals and water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, and boil for fifteen minutes. Cool and sieve into a clean bottle, ensuring that you squeeze as much water as possible out of the petals that are left in the sieve. Keep refrigerated

To use:

Use as a skin freshener, or add to bath products, creams, lotions, masks and gels.
