INCI name: Sodium Stearate


Sodium stearate is a salt produced from stearic acid (a fatty acid found in solid animal and vegetable fats), which is sold as a powder. It is also known as sodium/natrium soap.

In skin care products it is used as a soap-type emulsifier in products such as deodorant sticks and insect repellent sticks where a greasy or oily feel is undesirable.
