    INCI name: Yucca schidigera extract




    Yucca root herbal extract is used in natural skin and hair products as an emulsifier and cleansing agent. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can help relieve the pain, inflammation and stiffness associated with arthritis and rheumatism.


    Yucca root herbal extract is water-soluble and can be added at the water stage of the cream/gel making process.

    Pink clay is the most useful for sensitive skin as it non-drying and non-irritating, while honey is soothing and healing and rosewater is hydrating.


    You will need:


    45ml pink clay

    30ml rosewater

    5ml clear organic honey

    5 drops chamomile roman essential oil




    Mix all the ingredients together, adding the essential oils last.


    To use:


    Apply the mask to face and leave for fifteen minutes, then rinse off. Tone and moisturise as usual.

  3. INCI name: Melaleuca alternifolia







    Tea tree herbal extract powder is obtained from the crushed leaves of the plant. It is used as a gentle, cleansing exfoliant in natural skin care.


    Tea tree powder has a faint fragrance similar to tea tree essential oil and, like the essential oil, is antibacterial and antimicrobial. Add it to skin cleansers, gels, masks and soaps to help resolve blocked pores and lift excess oil, grime and flaking skin. Add it to the water stage of the cream or gel making process, or add it to soaps at trace.


    Tea tree powder is especially useful for oily, problem and acne-prone skin.

    Epsom salts are relaxing and soothing on aching muscles. Pine, cedarwood and cypress essential oils create an invigorating fragrance that both men and women will enjoy. Use these salts after a strenuous workout or a long, tiring day to relax and revive.



    You will need:


    500ml Epsom salts

    60ml bicarbonate of soda

    5 drops pine essential oil

    2 drops cedarwood essential oil

    2 drops cypress essential oil





    Combine the essential oils in a small dropper bottle. Mix the Epsom salts and bicarbonate of soda together in a mixing bowl. Drop the essential oils into the salts and mix well to combine. Spoon the bath salts into a glass jar with a screw-top lid.
