  1. INCI name: Matricaria chamomilla CO2

     

     

     

    CO2 extracts are oils extracted from plants using liquid carbon dioxide as the solvent. The beneficial constituents are extracted without exposure to heat, thus avoiding deterioration. These oils are considered to be of the highest possible quality.

     

    Chamomile CO2 Extract is anti-inflammatory and is calming and soothing for sensitive and/or irritated skin. The extract is taken from German chamomile, which is the most potent of the chamomiles.

     

    Add up to 3% Chamomile CO2 Extract to calming skin care creams, lotions and gels.

  2. Milk is a great skin cleanser and softener. The additional of rose and black pepper essential oil makes this milk bath extra indulgent…:o)

     

    You will need:

     

    500ml dried milk powder (full fat is best)

    250ml cornstarch

    10ml dried rose petals

    8 drops rose essential oil

    4 drops black pepper essential oil

     

    Method:

     

    Mix the milk powder and cornstarch together in the bowl of a food processor/blender until well mixed. Add the rose petals and mix again. Finally, add the rose and black pepper essential oils and mix once more. Spoon into a clean glass jar.

     

    To use:

     

    Add 125ml to running bath water.

  3. INCI name: Daucus carota CO2

     

     

     

    CO2 extracts are oils extracted from plants using liquid carbon dioxide as the solvent. The beneficial constituents are extracted without exposure to heat, thus avoiding deterioration. These oils are considered to be of the highest possible quality.

     

    Carrot Seed CO2 Extract is rich in beta-carotene and is antioxidant, healing, nourishing and regenerating. It improves tone and elasticity and helps reduce wrinkles and scar tissue.

     

    Add up to 1% Carrot Seed CO2 Extract to skin care creams, lotions and gels for mature and damaged skin.

  4. A gentle, cleansing facial soap for dry, sensitive and mature skins.

     

    You will need:

     

    113g melt and pour soap base

    10ml cold cream

    10 drops rose essential oil

     

    Method:

     

    Slowly melt the mp soap base in a slow cooker (setting: medium) until it has become liquid. Stir in the cold cream and continue cooking until the cream and soap are thoroughly combined.

     

    Remove from the heat and stir in the rose essential oil. Pour into a soap mould and place in freezer for several hours. Remove from the freezer and flip out of the mould while still hard. Makes 1 bar.

    Calendula (from the Marigold plant) is anti-inflammatory, healing and soothing for sensitive, dry, damaged and irritated skin. It is often used in baby care products to soothe delicate skin.

     

    Add up to 1% Calendula CO2 extract to healing ointments, creams, lotions, balms and gels.
